At Ecole Salish we focus on music as a participatory activity that engages students academically, creatively and physically through playing, singing  and listening to music from a wide range of cultural and historical backgrounds. We emphasis the skills of playing rhythms and melodies, reading and interpreting music notation, improvising, and working as a team. Throughout there is a focus on making a personal connection to the instrument and to the music we are playing and learning about.
